The ACTIVATE project, conducted from December 2020 to August 2022, focuses on the development and promotion of social prescribing in response to the psychological impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe. The initiative aims to introduce social prescribing in three countries where it is still conceptual (Greece, Spain, France) and expand its practice to the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, and Ireland. Objectives include empowering adults in health, creating a best practices guide, training health practitioners and social educators, as well as establishing participant forums. The project, named ACTIVATE, aspires to become a comprehensive resource for adult education, aiming to empower vulnerable adults and integrate social prescribing across various domains. Actions include creating an empowerment guide, a compendium of social prescribing community care projects, a training program for health and care practitioners, and an introductory course for social and cultural educators. ACTIVATE responds to the needs generated by the health crisis by promoting physical and mental well-being through social prescribing.
