The SEWEM (SINO EUROPEAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN MUSIC) project aims to strengthen the skills of women in the music and export sectors, by promoting cooperation between Europe and China. It is the result of three initiatives, including MEWEM EUROPA, a mentoring programme to support the business development of women entrepreneurs in music.
In addition, EXPORT MUSIC DAYS encourages the internationalisation of jazz and world music in China, and BRIDGING THE DRAGON facilitates links between the European and Chinese film industries. The project includes two mentoring cycles, a cross-cultural guide, two legal and management vade-mecums, and a dedicated contact point at the SEML (Sino European Music Lab) to encourage the exchange of know-how and Sino-European cooperation. Supported by the French Institute and the CNM, the project involves LABA, WOMEX and EMEE, and aims to share results and resources with 25,000 European music industry professionals over two years.
