Since 2015, the Bordeaux Rock association has organized the Musical Ecran festival, a week-long event in Bordeaux presenting a selection of national and international music documentaries. The festival, which attracts around 5,000 spectators, is organized in partnership with Utopia cinema. The association offers screenings of music documentaries followed by discussions with film experts, as part of an approach to image education and the promotion of cultural diversity. To develop its network and improve its practices, Bordeaux Rock wants to create a European network of music film festivals (MFFN). The project aims to exchange teaching methods and develop five key areas: communication, networking, programming, cultural action and language skills. The project involves 5 European festivals and 16 participants from different countries. It will run for two years and will include observation days, round tables and seminars in different European cities. The main objectives are to create an active network of festivals, exchange know-how, develop adult education skills, improve the quality and attendance of the Musical Ecran festival, and strengthen its European dimension.
Areas of intervention: Audio-visual, Music
