The "LIVING ROOM" project brings together youth workers from four cultural centers in Bordeaux, specializing in music, aiming to combat radicalization by promoting the appropriation of cultural spaces by young people. Faced with concerning behaviors, such as formal religious prohibitions for some Muslim girls from attending concerts, and increased exposure to hate speech and radicalization, these workers seek to modernize their mediation methods. Through immersions in Brussels and Sofia, they aim to adapt their cultural spaces to the needs of young people, drawing inspiration from structures known for their inclusive approach and expertise in mediating religious conflicts. The project aims to devise new practices, share expertise, and define a framework for a cultural cooperation project targeting youth affected by religious radicalization. Involving 14 youth workers, the project seeks to enhance individual and professional skills, fostering the development of intercultural dialogue and the ability to handle challenging situations related to youth radicalization.
