The "DAY 1 IN EUROPE" project aims to enhance the inclusion of allophone children, resulting from the European migration crisis, in school establishments. Partners from Greece, Belgium, France, Italy, Ireland, and Malta are developing educational tools such as LUNCH BOX, MUSIC BOX, MAIL BOX, PLAYING BOX, and LANGUAGE BOX, focusing on the valorization of native languages as playful pedagogical and cultural resources. These digital educational boxes encompass training modules, pedagogical tutorials, and a certifying curriculum for teachers working with children aged 6-11. The targeted languages are English, Italian, French, and Greek. The three-year project aims to provide teachers with tools to improve communication with allophone migrant children and their families, thus fostering their integration. Project outcomes are disseminated through events and networks in education, culture, and active social inclusion in Europe. The anticipated impact includes training 5,000 European education professionals and integrating the tools into national teacher training programs.
