The "RURAL STORIES" project aims to support and train European rural communities in creating local, collaborative, and independent digital media to showcase their territories. It addresses the issue of "media deserts" in rural areas, where citizens have limited visibility. The project proposes the creation of blogs, webradios, webTV, etc., to encourage citizen participation, public debate, and reduce territorial inequalities. Three target groups are involved: rural citizens, organizations working on rural revitalization, and young journalists. The project involves partners from several European countries and aligns with Erasmus+ priorities regarding common values, civic engagement, and digital transformation. Motivations stem from partners' experience in rural visibility. The project needs funding to contribute to adult education, share best practices on a European scale, combat the decline of rural areas, and align with EU policies for rural development. Partners aim to enhance European cooperation, change perceptions of rurality, and create sustainable tools for participative promotion of rural territories.
Areas of intervention: Education, Media
