The "WE ARE EUROPE 2" project is a collaboration among eight festivals/forums that highlight electronic, independent, digital, and visual cultures. These events extend beyond musical programming, incorporating debates and meetings. Following a successful three-year collaboration that explored new territories and attracted a broader audience, the partners aim to take things further with WAE 2. The main objectives of this new collaboration are as follows: Spotlight and promote the younger generations of European artists, researchers, cultural actors, entrepreneurs, journalists, and authors contributing to the cultural, economic, and social transformation of Europe. Identify, connect, and highlight initiatives for cultural, economic, and social transformation. The project involves developing a co-curation approach to collectively select an annual panorama of "European change-makers," who will be featured and promoted at the eight festivals/forums. Expand WAE's influence beyond Europe by collaborating with international partner events such as Sònar Hong Kong and Nuits sonores Bogota. Disseminate these initiatives beyond the events by creating a digital WAE media platform and establishing partnerships with new European media outlets. This includes forming an editorial committee and a network of local correspondents who, through articles and reports, will shed light on various cultural, economic, societal, or political issues in Europe on a weekly basis.
