This project aims to encourage active participation of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Zagreb and Bordeaux in local participatory projects. Targeting youths in precarious situations academically and professionally, the initiative seeks to enhance their understanding of local political decision-making and increase their civic engagement. Through participatory cultural projects, particularly urban parades, young participants explore differences in approaching public space and active citizenship between Croatia and France. The project aligns with the backdrop of economic and social crises in Europe, aiming to strengthen European citizenship while promoting social inclusion and cultural diversity. Cultural operators collaborate with youths from marginalized neighborhoods, fostering intercultural learning and autonomy while addressing issues such as unemployment. The use of digital skills and outdoor activities enrich the experience for the involved youths. In essence, the project aims to raise awareness of European citizenship, promote civic participation, encourage youth autonomy, respect cultural diversity, and include those with fewer opportunities while addressing social and economic issues.
